From John From Cincinnati Wiki
Howard Hesseman, the actor most famous for playing Dr. Johnny Fever on WKRP in Cincinnati, plays Erlemeyer, an old friend of Mitch who lives in Mexico, beginning in "His Visit: Day Eight".
His appearance in the show was telegraphed earlier in the press:
| | In a suspiciously Milch-like touch, another actor with Cincinnati "connections" will be seen on the show in later episodes. Howard Hesseman relaxed between takes outside IB Coffee and Books. Dressed in straw hat, shell lei and flip flops, the actor looked like he had just wandered up from a day on the beach. Known as disc jockey Dr. Johnny Fever from the '70s sitcom, WKRP in Cincinnati, Hesseman said he is enjoying his time in I.B. and working with Milch. "I come out of improv theater, so making up as you go along is all right by me. [Milch] is an incredibly intelligent guy. I have great respect for his words."
